Belthangady, July 31:
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the mysterious burial case in Dharmasthala has received a major breaking lead. Human skeletal remains were found at the sixth point during the third day of excavation operations.
Two bones suspected to be human have been found at point 6, which was pointed out by an anonymous person to the SIT officers who were conducting a serious search. In this regard, the police are preparing to completely excavate the site and are also conducting a thorough search of the surrounding area.
The recovered bones are being sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for post-scientific testing. Officials are continuing the excavation in the hope that more skeletal remains or evidence may be found.
The SIT, which is currently grappling with the heartbreaking case in Dharmasthala, has now found a new direction in its investigation. It is hoped that the results of the DNA test of the bones will shed light on the identity of the deceased.
